Betrayed

Of the twelve disciples in which Jesus had chosen to follow him as he traveled the Holy lands preaching the gospel, he also told of the things to come,he told of the betrayal he would experience from one of them. Hearing this they were all sad and began to each say, not I Lord. Jesus replied to them by saying, the one who has dipped his hand into the bowl with me will be the one to betray me. The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him. But woe to the one who betrays the Son of Man for it would have been better for him to have never been born. Then Judas, the one who would betray him said, surely not I, Rabbi, and Jesus answered, yes it is you. Judas was not the only one to betray him, though his betrayal was the worst, Peter, another of his disciples also made the promise that he woulkd not forsake him but he was told that he to would disown him, but Peter declared that even if he had to die with Jesus he would never disown him. All the other disciples said the same.
Just as Jesus had told them Judsas was the first to betray, he went to the chief priest and asked what they were willing to pay for the location of where Jesus was. They counted out thirty silver coins and handed them to him and he told them where they would find Jesus. Later Jesus was arrested and taken to the high pries where he would stand before the teachers of the law and the elders. When people began to ask Peter if he knew Jesus he began to deny knowing him once, a little girl came to him and aask if she hadn't seen him with Jesus and ahain he disowned him and then a third time. When Peter realized what he had done he ran out of the courtyard and there he wept bitterly in shame for what he had done. When Judas saw that Jesus had been condemned he went to the high priest and returned them their silver, forgive me he begged, for I have sinned against an innocent man. That is your problem they told him. When Judas saw what he had done he was full os shame. He ran from the temple and out into the desert, it was then that he could no lnger live with what he had done and there he hanged himself.
